I am a student of TN gettin state rank in 300's (OP).....and i hope for instrumentation or civil in nit-t......according to last year . But iam getting not even getting metallurgy in nit-t.(using state quota).
I gave ece , eee , mech , cse , instru , civil , chem , prod , metallurgy in nit-t after which i gave my option to SASTRA ece,eee ......And my AIR is not so gud as it is in 15k....i think i wont get a better seat in any other nits...usin ALL INDIA QUOTA
The problem this year with the online counselling is :Last yr u hav to bring a DD for Rs 25000 for first counselling., but this year almost everyone is attending online counselling...i mean even the gud rankers in iit , other students aiming for m.b.b.s with a gud rank in some other entrance like pmt , then anna university coun etc......to know abt the course that they might get in nits for their rank
As mentioned in the post 2, i am getting only SASTRA ece....but according to last yr data..i can comfortably get civil or chemical or instrumentation in nit-t....with state quota.

If i suppose delete all my choices after nit-t metallurgy which is my lower most choice. and i am not getting it....All the choices are not available for me....Then will b considered for filling of vacant seats in the second counselling?? If yes., I wont be able to take provisional admission during july 1 to 5....without having any available choice.
1if u r nt geting any seat on thr first round counseling..u wl have to wait till 7th for sec counseling...

my opinion: y not take sastra, u getting ece.. the other one is still very uncertain... but are u sure that after taking admission in sastra u cant attend sec counselling?

if u are alotted a branch n institute in First round, u have to take provisional admission by july 5. there u can choose any of the following:
to be considered for...
1) all higher preferred choices
2)all higher preferred choice within the institute u have been alotted
then on july 7 (second counsellin).. u will know like..
if u get a higher preferred choice... ur previous alotment will b cancelled

@sky....sorry i didnt mention one thing.....i already got cse in VIT....so i thought cse is better option than ece in sastra....as i can go to VIT from ma home itself(as i reside in vellore ).....for me only nit-t seems to be better option...and i hav to get the original documents which i submitted in VIT....based on the course i get in NIT....Or i may get dual degree in BITS-which is doubtful........
