JEE 2011 a physics ques seems wrong

agreed with the equations, except one , that is N = 2

they have given that force applied by stick on the ring is 2 N, that means

( N2 + (μN)2 )1/2 = 2

but with this i didnt get an integral answer. so i tried with N =2 , and got ans 4 . But that isnt correct.
Or am i making a mistake somewhere? [7]

yaar I think the question gives N=2

what is there not to agree??

force exerted by stick on ring will be Normal force vector + friction vector ,

not merely normal force

maine pura galat kiya is question ko! :P

I thot that the boy was pushing downwards! ;) :P

hehe!

Anyway now the question seems the boy is trying to push the ball horizontally with force 2 N.

Hence, N=2N

subhomoy , if N2 +μ2N2=22 would of given an integral ans between 0 to 9 , then what would be your opinion ?
