Won't it start rolling instantly? [7]

Moreover it's a rough surface so that will only enhance rolling [4]

dats true but it will not instantly start rolling (nt so sure but i strongly feel that)

Why shouldn't it start rolling immediately?

Btw is there any difference between pure rolling and rolling without slipping?

the body will roll and slip first, then it will acquire pure rolling.. dhire dhire...

see fig,

friction will produce an opposite torque..

that will reduce omega but increase linear speed (which is zero initially)

the tendency will be to have no sliping at point of contact.. i.e.v=wR

did u get it?

if not... then plz tell.... i will again try :) (to xplain :))
