Conserving linear momentum,
mv = (m+m)u
=> u = v2
After collision, COM = R/2
Icom = (mR2 + mR24) + mR24 = 32mR2

Conserving angular momentum, (taking "into-the-plane" as -ve)

0 = -(2m)uR2 + Icomw
=> w = v3R
