if i have understood your diagram correclty, then what youy have given is a current in a infinite plate of thickness l2??
take a parallel rectangle to the plate at a distance l above and l below the plate...
then apply ampere's law

but how???
the diagram is there is a very long thin horizontal plate......like a sheet of paper extended on two sides......n u will ahve to find the magnetic field at the distanbce l2 above the upper edge of the paper////the plate n the point is in 1 plane...now how to do it bhaiya???

one more thing is current i or is current per unit lenght i?
because if the current is i, then the answer will be zero..
but if the current per lenght is i then the answer wud be μ0i/2
(assuming that what i have understood is correct :P)

uum..current is i .....but it will b i/l2 per unit length!!

I think both of us are solving 2 different questions :(

n we canot take a rectangle as u said....because magnetic field will not be the same on two adjacent sides...

THERE IS AN INFINITE LONG METALLIC PLATE WITH WIDTH L2 and height 0[just like a cellotape openend up..:P]
a current i is flowing through it....find the magnetic field at a distance l2 aboce the upper side of the sheet.[not at a height l2,the whole apparatus is in 2D plane]
