A.The tension in the string in 6.5 N
B.accel. of A is g/3 downward.

2y_c+y_b+y_a=const.
therefore, 2a_c+a_a+a_b=0
T+mg-2T=ma_a
T+mg-2T=ma_b
mg-2T=ma_c

putting m=1 and solving,
a_a=a_b=-a_c=g/3

and T=6.5 N
