oops sorry... i interchanged the answers
by 1st method... answer comes 32 kms
and by 2nd its 64 kms
AT what height on the poles the value of free fall acceleration decreases by 1%?
I m getting two answers
using formula g' = g(1-2h/R) then answer comes- 64kms
using g' = g/(1+h/R)2 then answer comes 32 kms
plz help me out!!!!!

Second formula, cos it involves no approximation.
But didn't we study that the first formula was an approximation of the second?
I don't think 64≈32!

Formula..
as 1st one is approximation for the second formula so as long as both formulas give nearly same answers u can use both but as soon as they show difference use the basic one.. second one..

2nd formula should be applied and answer should be 64 kms. but answer given is 32 kms... ??? may be wrong!
