Water will dissociate to give H+ ions to neutralise OH- ions.
1.....why will the pH increase if NaOH is added to 10 litres of solution of water????????[2][2][2][2][2][2][2][2][2]

		one of the explanation may be that,
NaOH furnishes free OH- ions in solution, thus it increases basicity
or in other words the OH- ions furnished eat up the H+ ions in the soln and decrease acidity..
in either case, the pH increases....
