In two minds....

Can some one help me out???
Someone who's gone through the GRIND of both the school boards and then the IIT prep and after that the IIT grind...
I have always wanted to get into IIT...
But when I heard that the GRIND for IIT doesn't stop at just the prep but also the 4 years in IIT are a double GRIND, it really affected my preperation and now I'm probably a month or two behind in my preps!

I need some advice and quick too!

Not all profs are good..

Not all courses are good.. You will have to live with that.. but then this is far small compared to the good things..

hmm 10 hours is easily possible

my schedule is

10 30 - 12 30 2

1 30 - 4 30 3

6 30 - 9 00 2.5

10 - 12 30 2.5

which makes 10 hours easily i am not tired at all

btw i like studying in night as i can ponder in silence

many ppl get up at 6 itself so for them early to bed is must

Well since got off to a very slow start, I've decided on 6 hours on school days and 9 hours (if possible) on holidays... How does that sound??

well yes i meant that only on school days..

weekends it should be around 6-8

I personally was not able to study 10 hours ever.. the next day would go waste if i tried to overstreach myself..

but if there are guys who can manage that then it is fine :)

MAN NAMAH GOEM
TU RAH
DEH RO HARAM MEIN RAVI
HAR JAHAN MEIN RAVAT
JAAN MEIN KHUDA MEIN RAVI.........................BY BHAI NAD LAL
this means he says "i dont suggest u go go to any temple or mosque or gurudwara but i suggest u to go the path of DIVINE"
similarly it can be said that dont move towards an institute or time or book
just focus ur attention towards ur goal
and if u r capable then u will be blessed by any means

Hey, suraj.....first realise what goals are realistically possible to acheive.

If your preps for jee hadn't been as good as it should've been (like mine [17]), then aim to clear smaller exams like aieee and bitsat......

BUT WHATEVER U HAVE IN MIND, BOARD MARKS ARE INDISCRIBABLY IMPORTANT....SO CONCENTRATE ON EXCELLING IN UR BOARDS...EVERYTHING ELSE IS OF 2ND PRIORITY.....

After the boards, look at what all things it is really possible for u 2 acheive.... then work INDISCRIBABLY HARD towards it.

PS: This advice is at trial and error stage......but i am following this.....so hope it helps u [1]

I think u r presently in XI!
Ok.. i will tell u though ,me too an aspirant...There is always a good feeling to say that u r a "IITian".The problem u think-school pressure and JEE preperation pressure is a common problem.First u concenterate on JEE, then most the derivations , HOTS q , numericals will become easy, then some thing to "memorise"-which u have to do.U will naturally be used to the environment when u enter IIT, just like many of the others..
JUST GO AHEAD WITH YOUR PREPERATIONS , CONCENTERATE AND SET UR TARGET - TO CLEAR JEE. DONT WORRY ABOUT BOARD- U CAN DO WELL IF U STUDY FOR 1 MONTH.

ALL THE BEST!!!!!!

hey i was olso in d same problem ...!
n m still in it..!

but i found a solution myself...WITHOUT NY HELP!
its dat u must concentrate first on ur school prep bcoz once u r through with schul course n ncert fr boards den automaticaaly after gettng %age in 90ies or sumthgn in boards u r atleast hvng a satisfaction dat any forieng university n many gud indian universities can evn accept u~~fr b.tech..

n else after doing dat u can evn just study d same topics a little more n keep a perfect balance b/w both thngss..!
try out just 10 objective questions in ur 3 subjects evryday b4 gng to bed...n score...is den 300 questions a month..~!!!
u can evn increase ur solvng speed gradually...!
dats my own solution coz im undergng d same thg ...i know..hw it feels

@Suraj.

4 yrs at IIT will be more peaceful than any other time of your lirfe. they will be better than anything else you will ever experience. There are a lot of bad things attached.. a lot of them. but overall it will be awesome.

Do you think that the other colleges you will join will be half better? Not even close. Not 10%! barring a few 3-4 colleges in India.

Forget everything else. Start to dream.
