ans given is "mixing of orbitals of DIFFERENT energies....."

How can that be DIFFERENT ????

Yes.. It cant be "DIFFERENT" but surely "different".. :P Actually what I mean to say is that orbitals of different energies that are comparable can undergo hybridisation. The difference should not like that of 1s and 2s.. So, by different, I guess they mean, different orbitals but of comparable energies.. What are the other options?
