62Avinav.. I dont agree to what you have to say...
You will not realize this because u sit in bengal and a lot of ppl here in bengal dont like it when i say this but jadavpur is not good.
i am not talking about the education.. and again something that you will not realize straight away. Engineering is as much about extra acads as is education.
You should look at good colleges in Delhi or Bombay or even Bangalore... rather than Jadavpur.
This is why personally I dont think kanpur is the best IIT (BOmbay, Kharagpur and Delhi) rate far higher in these parameters (extra curriculars) Madras is also very good.
But as far as education is concerned it may be one fo the better colleges.
