1.A water tank filled with water stands on a horizontal table top.The level of water is at a height H from the bottom of the tank.The tank together with the water weighs W.The side of the water tank has at the bottom a plugged hole with diameter d.For what value of the co-efficient of friction between the bottom of the tank and the surface of the table will the tank begin to move when the pug is removed??

2.A small coin is placed on the top of a frictionless smooth piston which is fitted in a vertical cylinder containing an ideal gas.The piston is pressed downwards by a small amount x and then released.Find the maximum value of x for which the coin does not lose contact with the piston surface.(Assume the process to be adiabatic).

first we can find the velocity of water coming out of the container from the equation
1/2ρv2=ρgH
=>v2=2gh
now force due to impulse(due to change in mass)=v(dm/dt)
dm/dt=ρA*dx/dt
=>dm/dt=ρAv
=>F=ρav2
so for max fric μlimW=F
=>μlim=F/W
so for any μ<=μlim the container will begin to move
