see u find the roots of the equation, which come out to be1, 2 + √3 i and 2- √3i

and then put them in the equation, and then we get 1/w^2 + w + w, which is 3/w^2 or 3w

height of a man is 5.87532 ft .measrment is crrect upto 3 digits .the crrect hgt is
1. 5.86 2. 5.88 3. 5.87 4. 5.80

THE NO OF REAL ROOTS OF

{ ( 2 x - 3 ) / (x -1) } + 1 = ( 6x2 -x -6)/ (x-1)

a. 1 b. 2 c. 0 d. none of these
ans d...........

1
Manmay kumar Mohanty ·

the given equation can be written as 2x - 3 + x -1x-1 = 6x2 - x - 6x - 1
→ 3x2 - 2x - 1 = 0
b2 - 4ac i.e, 4 + 12 = 16 >0
hence 2 real roots
so (b) [1]

if a ,b ,c r roots of x 3 - 3 x2 + 3x + 7 =0 then

(a-1)/ (b-1) + (b-1)/ (c-1) + (c-1) /(a-1) =?

ans 3w2( w is cube root of unity)

We have to round off 5.87532 ft to two figures.
≈ 5.8753
≈ 5.875
Now when the digit to be dropped is 5, followed by digits other than zero, then the preceding digit is raised by 1. If 5 is followed by zeroes, the preceding digit is - (a) left unchanged when even, (b) raised by one, if odd.
So ≈ 5.88 ft.

I just used my equation solver(made one in C++ lol), that equation has two real roots x = -0.92 and x = 1.08. x = 1 is not a solution as it is not in the domain of the function.

Thanks a lot Akshay for sharing your experience. I'll really have to do it fastly.. I couldn't even complete 90 questions of AIEEE in 180 mins.. barely got time for doing maths.. will have to improve to save my already-sinking-ship.

anyone who finds BITSAT sample papers
plz post their links here
it would be very helpful to all
specially those software type sample papers(BITSAT software)then that would be gr8
plz give links of all the sample papers here

var ·

yeah ..i need some tips on dat too...

1
Akshay Pamnani ·

TIP #1:analyze about those 10 extra questions, see the number of questions u leave and the time u r left with in the sample papers.if u leave 15-18 questions with 10 min remaining go for xtra questions filling randomly those 15-18 questions,if say at least 3 questions are right out of 15,which is more than 50% probability then u get -3 marks and in those 10 extra questions(which are of same difficulty level based on PCM),u can get 5 questions and so 15 marks, net gain of 12 marks
Speed is the key!!
