help me ?

Dear all,

I didn't crack jee this year, and didn't score well in aieee, only i cracked KEAM, and i want to drop and appear for jee next year, but my parents are against the idea of dropping and in their point of view it is like wasting a year. So they want me to join the CET, trivandrum, kerala, and then repeat. Will it be possible to repeat for jee simultaneously with my first year, and i am interested in EEE or Mech, which one should i go for doing further research in nanotechnology.

@moni
yaar dekho wether it will be possible or not depends on u urself....no one else cn suggest anything per se..
even if one says yes u can no surity
even if one says u can't no surity
better u strt thinking on ur own n asking urself for ur answer if u can or if u can't?.....once u get a confident answer from ur side u will automatically get to know wat to do next whether to drop out or give jee next year with college....i know guys cracking jee with college n guys not clearing with a drop even..so u see wat matters is wat it takes to get to an IIT not what way u choose!!!!

Nishant bhaiya was saying there are no core jobs in India, so if you take Mech you'll have to go abroad for an MS and good hands on experience as the course here is mostly theoretical(worst case scenario that is, if you don't get JEE and have to continue with your course)...EEE then? Wait for more opinions.
Don't worry pal. Your parents are right. How would it feel like wasting a year while all your classmates enjoy college life ahead? Rather your parents are suggesting partial dropping, by joining a college and simultaneously doing the JEE course. It's what I'm going to do if BITS doesn't go well. It will be very difficult, mind, it's going to take one year of bloody minded study, as if your life depended on it. But then again, had we studied earlier, we wouldn't be in this spot of bother, would we? We have only ourselves to blame.
I've "cracked" only Amrita Vidyapeeth with 5025 rank, and even then their counseling list is only upto 4200, and I don't think a second list will come. I have only BITS left...let's see what happens.
Give me your mail ID in my chatbox. We'll keep in touch.

PS : For nanotechnology, I guess EEE would do, but wait for more advice.

Yes JEE is possible with a college.

But you have to have a lot of focus and have ato work very hard to balance both college and IIT JEE preps..

If you can time manage it will be very easy.

And yes as rightly pointed above, it is a very personal question..

What Type of Education is Needed for a Career in Nanotechnology?

Not everyone working in the field will require a doctorate degree in one of the fields noted above. A skilled workforce trained at a variety of levels is needed to meet the projected workforce challenge of 7 million workers. Education levels include:

* Technical program
* Associates degree (2 years)**
* Bachelors degree (4 years)**
* Masters degree (6 years)**
* Doctorate (8 years)**

** This is the estimated time it would take a full time student to complete degree requirements after graduating from high school.

For pursuing a career in the filed of Nanotechnolgy, the aspirant must have a post graduate qualification in the subject. i.e they must have an M.Tech or M.Sc. degree in Nanotechnology.

At present, no reputed institute in India is offering courses in Nanotechnology at the graduation level. Eligibility criteria for doing Post Graduation in Nanotechnology is Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Life Sciences and with PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) as subsidiary subjects. The M. Tech course in Nanotechnology is of great benefit because students who come from different streams enrich each other to intensify their knowledge. The candidates who wish to pursue higher studies in Nanotechnology, can apply for M.Tech in Nanotechnology after completing their B.Tech degree in any one of the following. i.e in Material science, Mechanical, Biomedical, Chemical, Biotechnology , Electronics and Computer Science. Those who have completed M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Biotechnology and Computer Sciencecan also join for the M.Tech Course. Admission to the 5 year integrated M.tech Course in Nanotechnology is through entrance test.
