why adsorption can take place in solids only if there is a unimolecular layer of the gas molecules on the surface ??????????

		there are infinite no of small pores on surface of solid....each molecule of gas occupies 1 position(known as active site)
and rate of adsorption, \frac{x}{m}=K\theta
where theta is the no of active sites
