During boiling of egg entropy increases...
[1]

which is rite with reasons..
what i thought
1st option: The albumin gets hard(so it decreases)
2nd option: the sold particles changes into liquid state(increases)
Are my reasons rite..coz answer was just opposite

ENTROPY actually tells u about the rate of disorderliness
1 entropy decreases
2 entropy increases

Entropy decreases by expansion of gas

yes........so will it not be more in case of boiling of egg..

sriraghav ·

sorry! i thought the same , but the answer was 2nd one...

nahin i gave the ans for ur 1st ques

sugar dissolved in water but not dissociates.so no of particle remains constant throughout the solution.

In case of boiling egg albumin gets hard but protein gets denatured/disorder.

hence aqueous solution of sugar has less disorder than boiling egg.

so aq.solution of sugar has less entropy.

Option (2) is correct

ENTROPY DECREASES IN2 AS ENTROPY OF PURE WATER >>> ENTROPY OF SOLN NOT SURE

Well for that boiling of egg...

earlier.. protein is collied and and in its large molecular form.. but on boiled it is denatured... and structure is uncoiled resulting in more random arrangement...
so entropy increases..

Priyam: when sugar is dissolved entropy...............
IITgoer ..: increases?
Priyam: sayad
IITgoer ..: is it correct?
Priyam: pata nahi but answer is sayad decreases
Priyam: http://targetiit.com/iit_jee_forum/posts/entropy_decreases_in_2840.html
IITgoer ..: i think dat
IITgoer ..: sugar is a solid crystal..it appears in a much ordered form
IITgoer ..: but wen v dissolve in water
IITgoer ..: the randomness of liqids is much more
Priyam: ur are ri8
IITgoer ..: than dat of solids

well according to her it increases.. and i think same too.....

but why he said:
"2nd option: the sold particles changes into liquid state(increases)
Are my reasons rite..coz answer was just opposite

ΔH is positive.. so ΔS has to be positive to make ΔG negative...

it was single option correct !! and these two were options...

so none among these...

for egg...it decreases ofcorz.....it gets hard n solid inside...

for dissolution ofcorz entropy increases a solution is much more chaotic than a solute n a solvent.........

entropy inc... for first one.......

priyam is rite in egg the large potein moleculs get denatured on boiling and become uncoiled which decreases entropy..

for 2nd case entropy increases bcoz..the process requires ∂H positive so to make ∂G negative ∂S has to be positiveand more than ∂H,,to make th process spontaneous
