If A(a,a),B(-a,-a) are the vertices of an equilateral triangle then its third vertex is??

this is not a very tough question..

Try to see that the perpendicular bisector of (a,a) and (-a, -a) will contain the 3rd vertex....

so what will be the perpendicular bisector be? x+y=0.

now take the point as (k, -k)

the distance between (a,a) and (k, -k) = distance between (a,a) and (-a, -a)

so (a-k)2+(a+k)2 = 8a2

so 2k2=6a2

so k=±√3a

arrey last me typo hai k = ±√3a

fixing that.. by mistake i put k= ±√3

anuj they askd for a equilateral triangle............u took an isosceles right triangle.........thts d mistake i guess

no, i equated all the sides..the third(capacitor symbol...:P) line is not visible, but i had drawn it...
