1use parametric form of straight line
A line of inclination 135* passes through P(3,4).Find the points on it , each of which is at a distance of 2√2 units away from P.

1slope is -1....so eqn of the line is y-4=-1(x-3)=x+y=7....parametric eqn of the line is (x-3)/cos135=(y-4)/sin135 equate this to 2root2...solve the two cases...
62tormented think of this in pure geometry... that will help you solve this question and also to understand parametric form of equation....
so the answer is (1,6) adn (5, 2)

black starts are the two points
since angle is 135 so the length marked is 2.
This is also the motivation for understanding parametric form!
