hmm... this is a bit tricky...

The level of paper should never be your criterion for studies... You have to be ahead of the curve. U have to know all the stuff. And be able to solve any kind of problems.

Having said that, the papers are generally simple (If u only focus on DCE, you dont need to solve all the extraordinary questions)

I am posting the link for the syllabus of DCE.. The important thing is that (specially in Mathematics) there are a few topics outside the syllabus of IIT JEE. You should study them. They could (do) make a huge difference. (Boolean Algebra, Mathematical Logic, Statistics, linear Programming)

Chemistry adn Physics are in general the same.

You should see the syllabus here: http://www.nsit.ac.in/admission/admission/cee_08_book.pdf

The new notification has not come... You could wait for it. (but i dont think there will be too many changes)

DCE is generally after IIT-JEE. Dont lose focus. Of course you need to have fun for sometime..

Hey i forgot one thing.. if u are preparing for DCE, try solving NCERT only!

I mean nothing more than CBSE! (Does not mean u dont solve the tougher problems. There are some pretty good questions even in CBSE)

DCE i feel checks ur basics a lot more than any other entrance exam.

And yeah .... RULE: Dont forget To solve past papers...
