let the normal force on the small mass m be N

let the friction be f

so as it is accelerating with the cart in forward dir.
we have N=ma

further for vrtical equillibrium we have

f=mg

but f<=Î¼N=Î¼ma

so we have

Î¼ma>=mg

a>=g/Î¼
