CONFUSION.........

If i take y=xxx.......and
use log.......
CASE 1.. logy=xxlogx...
CASE 2....logy=xlogxx
=logy=x2logx...........WHICH IS CORRECT??

These are 2 differnt things

\left(x^{y} \right)^{z}

and

x^{(y^{z})}

now you have to say!

ya bhaiyya ... case (i) is correct .. actually xxxx = x(xxx)

so. case (i) is correct

i agree to you.. but still this is an ambiguity that must be made clear by the question setter.

I am not very sure/aware if there is a "standard" (Internationally accepted) convention for this one...

But i wud go with what you have just written.
