3 solutions honge iske

Arka Halder ·

cos2x=1-sin 2x
=>sin 2x=sin2x
=>sinx(2cos x - sin x)=0
=>sin x=0,or tan x=2
sin x=0 has 3 solns in [0,2Î ] out of which 0 and 2Î satisfy the eqn and Î doesnt.
tan x=2 has 2 solns in [0,2Î ]
so total we have four solutions dont we?

checked from book:
if a satellite is revolving close to the surface of earth,
T=2Π√(R/g)
i wud hav agredd with what tanay said if the words "orbiting close to the planet"were not given.it has to be c then..

1
Akshay Pamnani ·

v=√GM/R
nahi aata yeh toh bhad mein jao nahi samjhane wala main

Time Period=2Î R/v
=2Î R/ √GM/R
solving we get T=2Î R3/2/√GM
ab aise likh do T=2Î /√GM/R3
thoda dimag lagao ab deisity ke liye
samajh aa jayega sirf density pe depend karega

a hi hoga
samajh gaya main
sahi diya hai sab

Ya akshay me too thought it wud be c as the satellite is orbiting close to the planet..but strangely ans is given as a.the ans are wrong arent they?

for question 2
convert the statement in perfect square
(x-m)^2-1
so roots must be m+1 & m-1
so
m+1< 4
m-1 > -2
so m ≡ (-1,3)

ashish its from the book Mathematics for Aieee arihant.
not of any past year.

okay got it now,akshay.tan x=2 wil not have a root in [Î ,3Î /2] as cos x will be -ve there and thus the lhs of the eqn wil be -ve.
