Just a guess...CuS?
Ok, I just read that CuS can be used as a semiconductor(extra electron delocalisation). So it could easily get oxidised by HNO3...?

ya, HgS is right as its insoluble at all concentrations of HNO3. If it would hv been AQUAREGIA , it would hv been soluble.
