Yeah a) it will be...

Nitrite (NO2-) is angular.... (See tht nitrogen with one -ve charge is just lyke a neutral Oxygen atom => the molecule as a whole wud be simlar in structure to tht of O3 (Ozone) hence being angular in shape... )

Nitrile (they're talking about the nitrile in the sense of an ion, or a group?...nyways it won't make ny difference) Its -C≡N (linear n straight)...
