Q: CsCl has BCC structure in which Cs atoms occupy Body Center and Cl the corner sites. If density is 3.99 g/cc , Calculate :
a) The length of edge of Unit Cell
b) The distance b/w Cs+ and Cl- ions

use d= z*MNA*a3

putting z=1 , M = 168.5 , Na =6*10^23 , d=3.99 g/cc

a= 4.12 angstrom

now body diagonal = a√3

distance between the ions = a√32 = 3.57 angstrom

@swaraj - i think you made a mistake in units of 'a'

Then I;m correct.. I also got the same i.e, 412 pm.. But the material said 519 pm .. Huh.. Thanks all.
