a)cover a distance of 40m
b)have a displacement of 50m
c)reach the ground in 4 sec
d)begin to move down after being realsed.

Initial velocity after time 8 will be 8x1.25 =10 upwards (d is ruled out!)

Initial height = 1/2 x 1.25 x 8 x 8 = 40.

Net displacement will be 40 (so a is wrong and b is also wrong)

only option remaining is

s= -40

-40=10t - 1/2 x 10 x t²

clearly 4 is a solution
