A bead can slide on straight wire and a particle of mass m can is attached to the bead by a light string of length l.The particle is held in contact with the wire with the string taut and then it is let fall.If the bead has mass 2m .Then when the string makes angle @ with the wire the bead will have slipped the distance ___________

initially COM is at x=l/3

Finally let circle has moved through x then com will be 2mx+m(x+lcos(a))/3m

but this as external force in horizontal direction is absent... so COM doesn't changes so it is still at x=l/3

so 2mx+m(x+lcos(a))/3m=l/3
solving it we get...
x=l/3(1-cos(a))
