IIT JEE past question Mechanics 2

a syringe of diameter D=8mm and having a nozzle of diameter d=2 mm is placed horizontally at a height of 1.25m as shown in the figure.
An incompressible and non viscous liquid is filled in syringe and the piston is moved at speed of 0.25 m/s .

Find the range of liquid jet on the ground.

AV = av

V = av/A

0.25 A/a = v

0.25(16) = v edited 64->16 [calc error]

4 = v 1

4√2(1.25)/g = 4√0.25 = 2

4*4*0.25 = 1 * v
v = 4m/s
S = gt2/2
1.25*2 = 10t2
2.5 = 10t2
25/100 = t2
t = 5/10
t = 0.5 secs

x = 4 * 0.5

Range = 2m
