please help!!!!!

If earth's escape velocity is 25,000 mph, the moon is 250.000 miles away, why did it take 75 hrs to get there?

@chintan.. eh.. not this way buddy...

The speed keeps decreasing.... because of gravitational pull...

@Nishant......but at escape velocity gravitational pull is zero!!!!!!
I mean when a body attains escape velocity gravitational pull has no effect on it.....

@Chintan: Whatever Nishant bhaiya said is absoutely right ..

@Abhishek: Try answering the following questions yourself and u ll get ur answers automatically:
a) Why shall gravitational pull become zero just because the body is moving???
b) Is gravitational force at all dependent on the velocity of particle?
c) try brooding on the following equation:
F = G.m1.m2r2.

P.S.: have u started the chapter on gravitation already? :O

I mean to say that when abody attains escape velocity then it break free from all the gravitational pull!!!!!

leave this question for now..

come back when u have done that chapter! :)

escape velocity is the min. speed needed just to get rid of the gravitational pull by earth !!!!!!!

think on this !!!!!!
