tough SHM question

One end of a long metallic wire of length L is tied to the ceiling .the other end is tied to a massless spring K,a mass m hangs from the free end of the spring ,cross area and youngs modulus of rod are A and Y,find time period for small oscill of m.

I'm having trouble writing the energy relation for the rod,please help

you can find the equivalent spring constant

= as they are in series =
1/(
1/k+1/(AY/L))

thanks for that ,rohan ,i never thought a rod would behave like a spring,i got the answer but
won't the distances moved by spring and rod be different,the one for the rod shold be much lesser than that of the spring?

ya but just consider it as a simple cases of two spring in series
