The saturation photocurrent is directly proportional to the intensity of the incident light ray , and independant of the frequency of the light ray . Interestingly , the maximum kinetic energy of photoelectrons is independant of the intensity of the incident ray , but directly proportional to the frequency of the light ray .

Based on these facts , we can conclude that " ( b ) " is the correct question .
