A ray of light is incident at a small angle "i" on a surface of a prism of small angle "A" & emerges normally frm the opposite face.
If the refractive index of the prism material is "n", the angle of incidence "i" is nearly equal to -

			working backwards means form refraction at the 2nd surface....
since it is normal r=0 and therefore i=0 even though the prism angle is small
A=r1+r2 will holde
therefore A=r1
sin1/sinA=n
since A is small sinA is A
sin1=An
