An element X forms iodide XI3 and chloride XCl3.The iodide is quantitavely converted to the chloride when heated in stream of chlorine.
2XI3+3Cl2---->2XCl3+3I2.If 0.5 g of XI3 is treated ,0.2360g XCL3 obtaine.CAlculate atomic weight of element X

moles of XI3=moles of XCl3

0.5/(3M1+M)=0.236/(3M2+M)

M1 = atomic weight of Iodine
M2 = atomic weight of Chlorine
