plzz solve...

Successive ionisation potentials of an element M are 8.3,25.1,37.9,259.3 and 340.1ev. The formula of its Bromide is _?

it wil be MBr3.
coz the element M is in group 3 as there is a great hike in IP after third IP... so 4th electron must be very stable ...may be it completes octet...
