In a ccp figure out the number of octahedral voids and tetrahedral voids...

Then try to solve some more :)

@Nishant Sir : I got the statement to be true that way but if the formula is coming

out as K3C60 can v say that it's simplest formula is KC20 ???????

no i think,do u know y.see elementary fulleren has 60 carbons.

@msp : Fullerene has 4 C60 units at all corners & faces

12K r present in all tetrahedral & octahedral voids

So formula is K3C60

My doubt is whether the simplest formula is KC20 or K3C60 ???

With my limited knowledge.. I wud stick my head to say the simplest formula will be KC20
