(i) z + z = 0
==> re(z) = 0
==> z is purely imaginary
So, A

(ii) z-z = 0
==> 2i Im(z) = 0
==> im (z) = 0
So, if z=x ... where x is real,
then re(z2) = x2 which is ≥0
and obviously Im(zn) = 0 for all n = IN
So, C

(iii) arg(z) = pi/8
==> z = rcospi/8 + irsinpi/8
z2 = r2(cospi/4 + i sinpi/4)
Re(z2) = r2*1/√2 which is > 0
similarly Re(z8) = r8*cos(pi) = -r8 which is ≤0

So, B
