sorry to say it..but u r incorrect[2].......All 3 roots of n are real....-1,1,3

determinant of A-nI is

(1-n)3-4(n-1)=0

thus

n=1
or (1-n)2=4

thus (1-n)=+2 or (1-n)=-2

thus n=-1 or n=3
