Find range

If sec^{-1}(x-3)+tan^{-1}(\sqrt{9y^{2}-1})+sin^{-1}(x^2+y^2) =\lambda , has no solution then find the exhaustive range of \lambda.

the arcsec and arcsin term should give you some clue.
the answer is 'R' (the real number set)

Please Post the solution. I don't have the fiitjee solution for this! I tried some logic. But I need a complete one

x>4 & x<-2 , |y| >1/3 x2 + y2 is never between 1 & -1 , so answer R

@vikrant - i think x>4 and x<2 , but then x2+y2 <1 is possible.

oh ya.
for instance (x,y) = (0, 1/2) has solution.
