then 10S=9.9999999.....∞

then 9S=9
then S=1
?????

yes it is right....it`s a way to prove that 0.999999....recurring is equal to 1

But can we assume a no. like this to be as S(a real definite no.)?
We can say that it tends to 1 but how can it be Equal to 1??//

0.99999.... is approximately and not exactly 1.

10S=100.0000000000.....1
9S=90
S=10

SO ,
9.999999999...=10=10.00000...1 ???

@ Kreyszig , that is why " f ( x ) = x " is continuos at " x = 10 " .
