Why sin4x+cos4x has period Î /2 although f(x+Î )=f(x)

f(x+a)=f(x)

only means that a factor of a will be the period!

it does not mean that a is a period.. (it could be but it is not necessary!)

whats the method to find period =Î /2

sin4x+cos4x = (sin2x+cos2x)2 - 2sin2x.cos2x

= 1-2sin2x.cos2x

= 1- sin2(2x)/2

this will have same period as sin22x

sin22x find it...

i guess u will get it now :)
