Can someone help me out with functional relations please? I'm always stuck with such type of questions. How do we think about it and proceed in these?
As an example, help me solve this question-
Determine a function f satisfying the functional relation:
f(x)+f\left(\frac{1}{1-x} \right)= \frac{2(1-2x)}{x(1-x)}

1using partial fractions,

1. transform x --->1/(1-x), the equation is
......(2)
subtracting (2) from (1)
in the above eqn. transform x--> 1/(1-x)
.......(3)
solve for f(x) using (1) and (3)
39there is no 'one size fits all' answer for this.
You have to play around and be alert for the possibilities at every stage.

thanx, but we were supposed to do it without using partial fractions...we havn't learnt that yet...
