a question.

A static charge distribution produces a radial electrid field E = ae-br/ r2
where a nad b are constants.

total charge responsible for this field is ?
A) 0
B) 4Πε0ar
C) 4Πε0br
D) 4Πε0ae-br

I think it should be D . it is right?

sri it shud not D because i think u have E=q/4∩ε0r2

this relation will not be possible because the charge distribution is not like charge distribution on a non conducting sphere because the field does not depend on the exponential terms for a sphere

the pbm can be solved by finding flux

i think it sud b D,
since for any distance r,E is contant, thus to integrate over the whole gaussian sphere
we will have to simply multiply with 4Î r2.
then its coming D.

sri dint get u what lem→∞ ???

but i feel ans should be D by mka genius solution

See the answer you guys are jumping to is D..

but it is asked about the total charge ...

so you have to take r tending to infinity.

and there it will be zero...

So the final answre will be a) zero.

we can do this by elemination.......it cant be B and C....they are dimensionally wrong.........and D is too scary......so ans is A.....thts all

no akand.. but 99% of students will mark D as the correct choice for this one :)
