Charge ceases to flow only when potentials R equal.

Earth potential is always 0

So the answer is A.!!![7]

The first statement is not correct, the second statement is correct.

if a positively charged body is connected to earth, then charge from earth flows to the body.

poor.!! was feeling sleepy while posted the above reply (deleted now).!

this is an experimental example of induced charge phenomena:
when a (+vely) charged rod is brought near a conducting sphere, the semisphere towards the rod acquires negative charge and the semisphere away from the rod acquires a positive charge. When the second semisphere is connected to earth, charge flows from earth and it becomes neutral, while the other half of the sphere still has negative charge over it. when the rod is removed, the entire negative charge distributes over the sphere.

hence answer should be (D)

All the charge doesnt flow, its just the excess charge that flows, incase of -vely charged bodies.

And in case of positive charge flows from earth to the body!!!

So agree with D
