for the first question,
the above 2 resistors (3 ohm) are shorted so it will just be both 2 ohms in series..thats wat i think.

You have to find the shortest path that the current is flowing through and then calculate.
the answer is 5R/6.

You can use either of the perpendicular or parallel symmetry to argue that.
