Doubt about discoveries

In NCERT books,it is written that electron was discovered in 1859. Ohm's law was given before 1854 because Ohm died in 1854 and Coulomb' law was given before 1806 because coulomb died in 1806.We know that electron flow is known as electric current and electric charge charge is produced due to passing of electons from one body into another body .If we do not know about electrons we can't tell anything about electric current and electric charge because of given reason. So how could they discover these laws without having any knowledge of electron.

Arre yaar ... It's an OLYMPIAD question ... put it in that section !!!! Just Joking !!!!

TUSH was right ... SCIENCE IS ALWAYS WRONG ... IT CREATES 10 NEW PROBLEMS ... !!!!!

Phew .. !!!

Actually the topic should be ... DOUBT about DOUBTS ... !!!!!

arre bhai dekho...do u have any dea that how were electrons discovered?

Well without touching a book or googling, i can roughly tell it had something to do with a cathode ray tube or something and then irrespective of the gas used in the tube, the measured charge/mass of the particles that constituted was constant and negative and those particles were called electrons...

so u cannot disagree that humans had no conception what a charge is!!

and electric current can be interpreted as flow of charges and so knowledge of electron is no where required to know what a current is!!

and to be frak i know of no form of OHM's law that would require a knowledge of electrons!

we just know ohm's law states j=σE(j=current density, σ=conductivity, E=electric field at a point)
or the well known form, V=iR

but nothing requires knowledge of what an electron is!!!

At that time ... people didn't know about electrons ... they knew about CATHODE RAYS .....

yeah i think that is what i said!!

that means they had a knowledge about electrons but didnt named or classified it and i think thats y only we say that electrons were discovered not invented!!!!!!!

arre vinay discoveries are made in just the opposite manner what you study in your book......you must be thinking that electricity laws and electrical science was discovered due to electron but the scientists can't just make a wild guess as to what is present in atoms so electron couldn't be discovered just by itself ...they look at some certain phenomenon and after noticing the properties that a material shows they picturise the material's inner structure.....so you can say that discovery of electron didn't help in discovery of ohm's law or other laws ,rather the discovery of ohm law(and of course cathode tube experiment) helped the scientists in thinking as to what type of subatomic species ,the material which shows certain characteristics , contains inside itself that are as you know
the electrons

Subhomoy! What are the charges? How a charge is produced on a body.Have you not read in NCERT textbook that charges are produced due to electrons? It is written clearly in this book that charge is produced due to electrons. There are two way of producing a charge.First one is friction and the other one is induction. In first one two bodies are rubbed and electrons from one body passes into the other.See clearly.Electrons.So what you all are saying is just opposite to the thing written in books.
