If a charged glass rod is held near one end of an insulated uncharged metal rod . the electrons are drawn to one end .
Q1: Why does the flow of electrons cease?considering that there is an almost inexhaustible supply of electrons in the metal rod ..

Q2:Does any net electrical force act on the metal rod?explain...

1) Because once the charges are redistributed there is additional forces that start to act.. the net force becomes zero...

here the thing is that once some charges get distributed as shown.. the blue colored electron will stop facing any net attractive force from the two ends... one the red charges on the left and the combination or red and green on the right..

Q2:Does any net electrical force act on the metal rod?explain...

Yes it does..

The distance of the green charges is less than the red charges (on the rod)

But their magnitude is the same...

So there is a net +ve force towards the External chargee..
