V₄=0

the E_a , E_b and E_c direction are given considering q and (Q+q) to be positive charges...!

E_a= qAÎµ_o

E_b=E_c=Q+qAÎµ_o

V₂₁=q.dAÎµ_o

V₂₄=V₂₃+V₃₄=-(Q+q).2dAÎµ_o-(Q+q).dAÎµ_o=-3(Q+q)dAÎµ_o

V₂₁=V₂₄ (since it is potential difference between plate 2 and earth...

thus, we will get q=-34Q

giving, field between 3 and 4 as Q4AÎµ_o

pd b/w 3, 4 is correct, but q on left of 1 --PLS TELL WHY IT IS 0.

okay!! sorry!!

I missed out on that!!

charge on plate 1 + plate 4 = 0

and charge on left of plate 1 = charge on right of plate 4

that comes from field in metals=0 and p.d. between 2 same objects is same!
