Galvanometer

A galvanometer is to be converted into an ammeter or voltmeter. In which of the following cases is the resistance of the device maximum :

(a)Ammeter with range 10 A
(b)Voltmeter of range 5V
(c)Ammeter of range 5 A
(d) Voltmeter of range 10V

Now i wanna know how to compare the resistance of the ammeter and voltmeter as G(resistance ) of the galvanometer is unknown

Thanks

always keep in mind:

1) you want very little current to flow through the galvanometer

2) an ammeter is connected in series.. so the potential drop accross it should be very small

3) a voltameter is in parallel so the current thru it is very small..

4) 2 and 3 are true bcos ;you dont want the ammeter/ volt to change the current in the circuit..

now using the 4 points above try to figure out that in an ammeter is the resistance high/ low or in parallel or series to the galvanometer..

Same for a voltameter.. and then try the question.
