Sphere

A solid non conducting sphere has charge distribution as shown in the figure. Radius and mass of sphere is R and m.. a constant electric field E0 is switched on as shown and sphere is displaced by small angle θ. there is friction between sphere and wedges and no friction elsewhere. Find time period of motion.

Steps:
1)Complete charge distribution by superposition and make it a dipole
2)Find dipole moment using dP=Q.2l
and then P=∫dP
3)Write torque eqn τ=Iα..........
Apply suitable limits and get the answer

COM ke jasia Center of charge nikal do... haan bas aur kya..
