in a soccer practice session the football is kept at the centre of the field 40yards from the 10ft high goalpoast. a goal is attempted by kicking the football at a speed of 64ft/s at an angle of 45° to the horizontal. will the ball reach the goalpost.

For horizontal motion time 't' =40 yards/ 64 cos 45

For vertical motion y= 64sin45 x t + 1/2 g t^2

Using t if the value of y =10 then the ball will reach

t = u/costheta =2.65s
find y
it will come out to be 7.08 ft which is less than height of goal post...

ball will reach goal post...
